Any sudden change in urine colour, smell, amount or flow is worth taking seriously. Cloudy, very dark or foul-smelling urine, visible blood, or urine that seems to bypass the catheter can all be warning signs. If the urine stops flowing altogether or you feel pain, bladder fullness, fever or shivers, you should seek medical advice promptly, as this could suggest blockage or infection.
