Many different people can benefit from palliative support at home. It may help someone living with advanced cancer, frailty, neurological conditions, organ disease, or a complex long-term illness that affects daily comfort and independence. It is also helpful for people whose symptoms fluctuate, such as fatigue, pain, breathlessness, weakness, or anxiety. Families often benefit too, because care at home can reduce pressure and give relatives practical and emotional breathing space. Home support does not have to be intensive from the beginning. Some people start with a few visits each week for meals, light support, or companionship, and then increase care gradually as needs change.
